Hi Parents,
We can’t wait to host your students for our middle school lock-in on September 26th-27th! We know sending your middle schooler to an overnight event can bring up questions of safety and security. We are going to great lengths to ensure each and every student is well taken care of at this event. We hope this FAQ information will help ease some of those questions and instill trust that your student will not only have an amazing experience, but will also be kept safe.
House Students Middle School Lock-In will be on September 26th and 27th from 7PM - 9AM
Primarily we will be at The House. It is not, however, a true lock-in as we will have an offsite activity at Urban Air. We will leave the church at 9:45 PM and return to the church at 1 AM. We will be at Urban Air after hours and have the place rented out all to ourselves (aside from the workers of course!). We will then be at the church for the remainder of the event until parent pick-up at 9 AM.
This event is for students grades 6-8.
Boys and Girls will be together until we arrive back at the church from our offsite event. After 1 AM, boys and girls will do activities separate from each other in different sections of the building until breakfast and our final session at 7:00 AM. Our group leaders and chaperones will ensure that students stay in their designated areas. Additionally, our alarm system will be set and will notify us if any student opens a door to exit their genders’ area or the building.
*See Schedule for More Details*
Boys will sleep in The Porch. Girls will sleep in room 3 on the opposite side of the building. Chaperones will be stationed outside these rooms to ensure students are not moving around the building.
Our amazing group leaders and parent-chaperones will be transporting students to and from Urban Air. They will not make any other stops along the way.
Between our group leaders and parent chaperones we will have plenty of adults on site to monitor your students. All of our leaders and chaperones are background checked and chosen with safety and security in mind.
We will be serving pizza while at Urban Air as well as a late-night snack when we return to the church. Students are also welcome to bring snacks of their own.

We will let you know when a decision has been made!
Excellent question! Why on earth would we want to stay up all night with a bunch of middle schoolers? Because we know middle schoolers and we are passionate about introducing your students to Jesus! Middle schoolers love doing crazy things like *trying* to stay up all night! They love spending time with their friends! Our middle schoolers love growing deeper in their faith! And they love worship! Why not put an event on where they can do all those things and the FOCUS BE ON JESUS! House Students is all about students taking ownership of their faith. That does not change for events like this. We are going to have teachings grounded in GOD’S WORD, authentic WORSHIP, time for students to PRAY together and be prayed for, and so much FELLOWSHIP (community that’s focus is connecting on Jesus). One thing that we are passionate about at House Students is students feeling a sense of belonging. Events like this help to provide that. The high-energy, fun games, group times, food, etc. help students to connect with each other. It helps to show them they are not alone in the struggles they face and their desire to grow deeper in their faith. It helps them feel a sense of belonging which in turn causes them to get more out of House Students and more importantly helps them to grow in their walk with God. We are so thankful that you trust us to invest in your students’ lives week in and week out at House Students. And we would love the opportunity to continue that at our House Students Lock-In!
